LEVEL 5: GRADE 1 - 3
The early years of school are an exciting time. Level 5 classes are designed to support specific milestones and support their school journey.
Why Enrol in Kindermusik Musicians?
• Solidifies a Strong Musical Foundation
Children continue to build a solid foundation in musical skills by enhancing their music-reading abilities, refining their glockenspiel skills, and exploring new instruments like the recorder and dulcimer. These experiences broaden their musical understanding and confidence, and prepare children for future participation in school bands, choirs, or private lessons.
• Strengthens Academic Superpowers
Ongoing musical training continues to boost brain development. Through more complex rhythm patterns, listening exercises, and ensemble work, children improve skills like memory, focus, problem-solving, and math—enhancing overall academic performance.
• Broadens Cultural Awareness Through Music
A highlight of the Year 2 experience is the hands-on exploration of music from diverse cultures and traditions, aiding children’s understanding of the world. Singing, dancing, and playing music from around the globe helps children deepen their appreciation for different styles, stories, and people—laying the groundwork for empathy and global awareness. It also broadens their musical style palate!
• Refines Fine Motor and Coordination Skills
As instrument techniques become more advanced, children fine-tune their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Whether mastering the glockenspiel, learning finger placement on the recorder, or strumming the dulcimer, these activities engage both sides of the brain and support overall physical development.
• Fosters Confidence and Teamwork
With more opportunities to collaborate, perform, and problem-solve in group settings, children build resilience, creative expression, and social-emotional skills. Year 2 nurtures a sense of pride and accomplishment that carries over into many areas of life.
Enrolment includes:
• Age-appropriate curriculum which provides the skills for future music learning in a supportive and safe environment.
• 16 week semester which continues the learning from Level 4 in a sequential developmental program.
• A set of materials for home use including a glockenspiel, dulcimer and recorder, folder of homework sheets, manipulative cards and a subscription to the Kindermusik app which has all the music used as well as practice tracks, activities and more.
